As part of Newquay’s Festive Festival, Newquay Business Improvement District is organising a food and craft market for two days in November.
With a new venue and more space the food and craft market is building on the success of last year and is hoping to attract up to thirty exhibitors selling their locally produced goods. The market this year will be undercover on
the Fore Street car park on the 29th and 30th November and will trade from midday-8pm on Friday and 10-5pm on Saturday.
Newquay BID is seeking new exciting traders to be part of the market to sell their goods to local Newquay residents. Stands are just £75 including electric for the two days, so it’s a great opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to test the Newquay trading environment. The organisers are looking for all type of products from handmade crafts to tasty chutneys.
Eve Wooldridge, BID Manager says “we first tried the market last year and it was popular with visitors and locals. The exhibitors were pleased with how well the market went and many of them commented on the market being
a good indicator of how their products might be received if they were to open a shop on Newquay’s high street. We also want to offer BID businesses to trade in the market and therefore have a special rate for members should they wish to take a stand”
Last year the festive festival attracted over 2500 residents and visitors to the Friday Christmas Lights Switch On and lantern parade and more are expected this year. The BID is working hard to increase the events that form the festival and has been working closely with Cornwall Hospice Care to put on Cornwall’s first beach Santa Fun Run on Sunday 1st December. Participants will run at low tide from Towan Beach to Lusty Glaze and back. Newquay BID hopes that with all of these additional events in the festival we will attract a wider audience from across Cornwall to visit Newquay over that weekend.
