UntitledWith a plethora of surf schools, sailing options, coasteering, yoga weekends, incredible spas, beaches, accommodations and restaurants – and much, much more -Newquay is undoubtedly one of the country’s most attractive destinations for groups of people seeking either an action-packed or a relaxing getaway.  So to help ensure that organisers of all ages know about the dizzying list of great activities and options for multiples, Newquay Business Improvement District (BID), in collaboration with the Newquay Association for Licensed Premises, has just launched a new campaign, ‘Love Newquay’, to promote the area as the ideal spot for brilliant breaks.

The new campaign is already gathering storm with over 400 followers immediately showing their love on the new social media channels ranging from sporting clubs to individuals right across the country.

BID Manager Eve Wooldridge explains, “With so many healthy action packed outdoor pursuits and a rising reputation as a spa capital, as well as accommodations to fit all budgets and excellent bars and restaurants, Newquay is a perfect spot for groups considering one-off or regular breaks for themselves and their members or friends.  However there is so much competition and as a BID we want to be sure organisers know about the unbelievable list of options and also make sure we’re feeding them with ideas from all of our members.”

Eve continues, “As the majority of these groups tend to be in the 18-35 age brackets, social media is clearly a key communication tool to target these key organisers hence ‘Love Newquay’ was born.  These Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Pintrest social media platforms easy and engage with these target markets in a way that has never been previously possible, and we are already attracting attention and engaging in conversation, through the use of videos, images, interesting information and sharable content.  As a result, our BID members can get involved with helping us generate content via their own marketing materials and campaign and in time, alongside our mainstream activity, we will also be safeguarding invaluable jobs and businesses.”

Lee Gamble, General Manager of Hotel Sunnyside said:

“Hotel Sunnyside is an upbeat and affordable accommodation choice and we have always attracted and catered for responsible groups, so we are pleased that ‘Love Newquay’ is engaging with this market. Our groups might be a set of old school friends booking a girly birthday break, a group of sporting buddies looking for an activity weekend away, or even a bunch of work colleagues on a team-building event.

“With the Towan beach right on our doorstep and a successful partnership with Newquay Surfing School where we can offer lessons at competitive prices, Hotel Sunnyside has everything we need to encourage and look after group bookings, plus it cuts down the admin time spent on single bookings! We’re keen to keep attracting these responsible groups and are heartened to see the ‘Love Newquay’ campaign already getting significant traction online.”

The Love Newquay Facebook page will now be the place where everyone can find all the latest news and offers for all things ‘Newquay’. If local businesses have an event or would like to promote anything it is advised that they contact the BID or the Love Newquay team via Twitter or Facebook.
