Love Newquay Week Poster 2015From Saturday 24th October to Saturday 1st November the Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has teamed up with businesses in the town centre to ensure that there is something to keep you busy every day throughout the October half-term.

The aim of Love Newquay Week is to introduce residents and visitors to businesses that they may have not ventured to before or to help existing businesses reward customers for their loyalty and ongoing support. The week will be jam packed with FREE workshops, entertainment and Halloween festivities.

Starting on October 24th and continuing through to November 1st the week will be kicked off with families being invited to come and get creative with a FREE crafty work shop at the Green Herat Café on Tower road. The week will continue with FREE workshops throughout the week, there will be a marvelous magic show at the Trebarwith Hotel, a historical talk and walk through Newquay beginning at the No.5 Coffee House, and a chance to meet a mischievous Minion or Olaf at Rebecca’s on East Street complete with free face painting. The final half of the week will have an introduction to climbing session at Mountain Warehouse and Captain Jack’s will be hosting a Pirate workshop teaching budding swash-bucklers how to walk and talk like a pirate.

The week will be finished with a screening of Disney’s Frankenweeny at the Lighthouse Cinema starting at 10am on Saturday 31st October. Alice Beard, Newquay BID Marketing and Events Coordinator said: “Love Newquay Week is now in its second year originally beginning as our Indies Day that took place in September 2013. Love Newquay Week is jam packed full of activities that all of the community in Newquay can get involved in. The main event of the week will be the Newquay BID’s Zombie Crawl on Saturday 31st October which promises to be a spook-tacular event and there will be two exciting opportunities to meet none other than Titan the Robot.”

Alice continues: “We are also inviting businesses to come and take part in a spooky shop window display over the October half term. For the winner there will be £300 worth of advertising in the Newquay Voice, £100 of which has been kindly donated by the Newquay Voice. If you would like to take part in the competition please email me at alice.beard@newquaybid.co.uk.”
