Flowmoco will be creating a completely new integrated digital system for the town, which will feature a mobile optimised website, and a downloadable mobile app driven by beacon technology; which will allow businesses direct communication with those in town.
The app will allow mobile users to open their phone, see exactly where they are in the town and find out where to shop, where to get a coffee and where they can eat – all based on location. Weather reports, tide times and surf reports will also drive relevant information to a user – where a notification could then direct them straight to the nearest surf hire shop!
The app will also feature integrated analytics, allowing BID (who will administer the app and website) to collate not just footfall, but further information such as male to female user ratio, or age range. Thus, giving BID much more detailed information and statistics on who is visiting the town. Hotspots can be mapped, to follow the user experience and allow strategic promotion and marketing.
The website will feature listings of all BID member businesses and be go-to hub for places to go, where to eat, drink, shop and see what’s on across the town.
This system is the first of its kind in the UK and will put Newquay on the digital map, in an age where most people’s primary internet connected device is their smartphone.

Newquay BID is currently applying for funding for the project; which they hope to have up and running by Spring 2017.
