Rachel Craze, Chair of Newquay Chamber of Commerce and Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) said: ‘We are all so grateful to Andy Loos for so generously providing these facilities for us over the summer, we’ve had quite an increase in visitor numbers this summer and these toilets have helped maintain standards for visitors and taken pressure of other businesses.’
Newquay Town Clerk, Andy Curtis, added ‘it has made a big difference for visitors to the town and helped us through a gap in service whilst the new toilets at The Ark (old bus station development) are being built, following the Town Council taking over the run down East Street Toilets. These new facilities will be opening within the next couple of weeks, and we are already working on the Railway Station toilets issues.’
The Chamber of Commerce, Newquay Regeneration Forum, Newquay Town Council and Newquay BID continue to work closely alongside other partners to improve and maintain the visitor experience. Other investments include the hanging baskets and floral displays; increasing the number of events in the town and campaigning for improved street cleanliness.
