hanging basket on fore streetThe streets of Newquay town centre are now even brighter thanks to the return of 32 vibrant hanging baskets paid for by Newquay Business Improvement District (BID).

Newquay BID is working closely with Newquay in Bloom and Cormac to help maintain and develop the towns floral displays, work much needed since councils have had to significantly reduce their budgets for them.

Kate Cortez, Newquay BID Manager, said: “Floral displays are one of the things that can make a real difference to the appearance of the town and we have already had plenty of positive comments about the baskets and how pretty they are. The aim of the hanging baskets is to enhance the way both shoppers and business owners feel about our town and I think it really helps Newquay’s town centre look attractive to residents and visitors alike.”

The floral displays are part of Newquay BID’s ongoing work to improve the environment within the town centre. Other recent investments for Newquay by the BID include the eye catching banners through the high street and ongoing work with Newquay in Bloom to improve certain areas in the town, plus later this year will see the arrival of new coordinated signage across the town.
