Children of Newquay are invited to join the BID’s free Zombie Crawl on Thursday 31st October for one monster of a night. Wearing gory get-ups and ghoulish glad-rags they will parade through the town in a spook-tacular Hallowe’en extravaganza not to be forgotten.
Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) hosted the first Zombie Crawl last year, when more than 100 children dressed in their scariest Hallowe’en costumes to trawl the streets looking for ghouls. With a spooky zombie parade, ghastly games, freakish face-painting and devilish dancing, the BID expects 2013 to be even bigger and better than last year.
Children aged 5 to 14 are encouraged to join in the strange goings-on, which will start in The Cribbar from 3.00pm with games and face-painting to help get them into the spooky spirit. At 3.45pm they will parade along East Street in their best outfits to a scary Hallowe’en soundtrack. Then at 4pm, the children will join a troupe of zombies on the Killacourt to learn the infamous ‘Thriller’ dance. The evening will then be rounded off by a free family disco at the ‘Haunted’ Hotel Victoria from 6pm.
BID Manager ‘Eerie’ Eve Wooldridge said: “We hope that lots of brave children will dress up to come out for this year’s Hallowe’en celebration. The 2012 Zombie Crawl was a huge success and great fun for children and families. It was so popular that the BID decided to make it an annual event!”
“We’ve decided to make a few changes this year. We’re incorporating the Thriller dancing as this will keep everyone nice and warm. The BID has listened to the feedback from local businesses too and moved the parade back a bit so that the shops will still be open for anyone who wants to grab a costume and join in at the last minute.”
All kids taking part in the Zombie Crawl must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, contact email@example.com or call 01637 498599.
