During the month of August 2012 there was a poster marketing campaign at Newquay Airport, hoping to encourage visitors heading to other Cornish destinations to opt for a day trip to Newquay.
Throughout Spring and Summer 2014 the BID also created a marketing campaign utilizing First Great Western’s on board Escape Magazine encouraging new visitors to Newquay
County-wide radio campaign throughout the eight weeks of Summer during the peak listening times, aimed at attracting residents and visitors on day trips to Newquay.
Through out 2014 there has also been several live broadcasts from Pirate FM to help promote different events and encourage foot fall into the town centre from residents and visitors during the Summer months.
2013 saw Newquay BID put advertising hoardings on local Western Greyhound buses to encourage people to visit Newquay for day trips.
Six week campaign across 20 sites on the London Underground promoting the surfing lifestyle and www.visitnewquay,org to commuters, tourists and tube riders in London in time for fantastic exposure during the London 2012 Olympics.
There was also a second campaign for 2013! This campaign allowed users of the London underground to scan a QR code on the poster with their phones that took them to a list of offers on the Newquay BID website from accommodation providers in Newquay!
We currently run eight different social media accounts. We run both Twitter and Facebook accounts for
Newquay BID is part of the process for the consultation of parking charges with Cornwall Council. During December to March the BID has also promoted the £1 parking scheme that was put in place for some Town Centre car parks.
Starting in 2014 the Council also dropped the prices of many car parks in Newquay to only £ in the evenings during the Summer months. The bed then used this to start a marketing campaign to encourage visitors and residents to come and enjoy Newquay’s restaurants attractions such as the cinema during the evening.
