The series started Wednesday 26th November and has so far visited Truro, Bodmin, Wadebridge, Padstow and Heartlands at Pool. With Falmouth next on the Christmas calendar on 13th December, then the beach Runs…… Newquay on 20th and Marazion on 21st.
As Lindsay Opie, Major Events Fundraiser for Cornwall Hospice Care, says it’s a great way to build up to Christmas; “Our Santa series is all about having fun while raising money so we can continue to provide free care at our two Cornish hospices for patients and their families. Yes our work providing special care is serious, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy raising money at this special time of year. Our events give you the opportunity to run, jog, walk or cycle in free Santa suits or in Antlers and Reindeer brown shirts. All we ask in return is that you raise at least £20.14 in 2014. I can tell you now there’s nothing quite as spectacular as a flock of Santa’s racing towards you or as will happen at Falmouth, a stand-off between the Santas and the Reindeers! Please come and join us.”

“If you need inspiration, please visit our website and watch some of the stories we are now featuring on video where people talk about their personal experiences of Cornwall Hospice Care. At present Bernadette from Penzance is talking about the care she and her late husband received at St Julia’s Hospice in Hayle and next week it will be the turn of George from Truro. He’s been visiting Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell every week for the last four years and says it’s like his second home.”
