Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) hosted the second Zombie Crawl last year, when more than 100 children dressed in their scariest Hallowe’en costumes to trawl the streets looking for ghouls. With a spooky zombie parade, ghastly games, freakish face-painting and an appearance from the UK’s most famous and favourite Robot, Titan, the BID expects 2014 to be even bigger and better than last year.
Children aged 5 to 16 are encouraged to join in the strange goings-on, which will start with a first appearance from Titan at 2.30pm outside of Ben and Jerry’s on Central Square where he will present winners of the “Design a Friend for Titan” competition with their prizes and then lead the devilish ghouls to The Cribbar at 3.00pm with games and face-painting to help get them into the spooky spirit. At 4pm they will parade along Bank Street and East Street in their best outfits to a scary Hallowe’en soundtrack. The parade will finish at the Hotel Victoria where at 4.45pm, the children will join Titan for an exciting robotic show.
BID Manager Kate Cortez said: “We hope that lots of brave children will dress up to join us again for this year’s Hallowe’en celebration. The 2013 Zombie Crawl was a huge success and great fun for children and families!”
“We’ve decided to make the crawl longer this year to incorporate as much of the town as possible and we’re really excited that this year Titan will be joining us at the start and end of the parade.”
All kids taking part in the Zombie Crawl must be accompanied by an adult. For more information, contact email@example.com or call 01637 498599.
