The Feel Good Festival is on its way to Fistral Beach and the lower lawn at The Headland Hotel on Sunday 12th May. When they aren’t doing a sun-dance, the instructors are gearing up to put on a great day, taking their practice outside, giving people the chance to meet them and try new activities for free and having the opportunity to network with other local professionals.
The making of the Festival has relied entirely on the good will of local businesses from the instructors themselves, SurfGirl, Newquay BID, follow me fitness, Fistral Beach, Plymouth University, Newquay Insurance Solutions and the Headland Hotel to the generosity of identity designers, Friends in producing the logo, banners and programme. It is hoped that this event will be able to establish and grow in the future if it is seen to work and gain local authority funding.
The Feel Good Festival is an inclusive day hosting a broad mix of activities to suit all ages male or female, kicking off with two contrasting classes – Aimee Stapleford from Synergy Studio delivering Yoga on the lawn while Charlotte Kinsey-Jones will be getting the energy started with a Boxercise class on the deck and in the bar at Fistral Beach.
Locals should get down on to the beach early to meet our therapists at their tents – Amy Williams, Graig Sims, Emma Sims and Nick Kelly and sign up on their boards for taster sessions in massage, Shiatsu, and Bowen Technique.
Meanwhile Koncept Gym will be busy setting up some challenges on the sand, likely getting distracted by Anna Butler’s tug of war and battle ropes while Sportscene will be keeping the children entertained for the day with a range of sporting activities.
Late morning, Zumba fans can get their fix as Brender Willmott, Sagara Hilton and Eve Packwood are bringing the party to the the bar and deck at Fistral Beach while Personal Trainer, Claire Thompson will be on the lawn offering a Circuits taster class. In the distance you might spot Kate Weaving from WalkFit Cornwall striding along with her poles demonstrating Nordic Walking.
Throughout the day there will be the opportunity to ‘Meet the PT’ as Nathalie Frankson, Charlotte Kinsey-Jones, Nicholas Morton, Claire Thompson and Daniel Stapleford each with their own specialisms will be on hand to offer free consultations, taster sessions, special offers and advice. Completing the personalised package, you will come across Nutrition Solution and Cornwall Physio on the beach both offering drop in advice.
In the afternoon Amy Swanson will take over the lawn for Pilates – just bring a mat or towel and our PTs will be doing a variety of beach workouts from bootcamp style to Supple Strength, keep an eye on our information board throughout the day for pop-up classes.
Local legend, Steve Patterson is bringing his own brand of Feel Good with Laughter Yoga which we would love to see as many people participating in as possible! Finally Joshua Chamada will be doing a Capoeira workshop suitable for everyone.
While the Feel Good Festival is a not for profit event, please show your support by donating generously to our charitable partners The Wave Project, our therapists whose taster sessions are by donation and our instructors by going along to their classes after the Festival and telling your friends!
The message for the day is ‘Get your kit on and join in with the Feel Good Festival!’
