Families in Newquay are invited to join BID’s Zombie Crawl event on Saturday 27th October. This Halloween event organised by Newquay BID is open to children (aimed especially at ages 5-16) and their families: spooky fancy dress and make-up is very much encouraged for both adults and children and this year there is even more to enjoy in the town throughout the day.
The event starts with Cribbar hosting their annual family friendly pre-crawl disco from 12:30pm – there will be free face painting and a chance to try your hand at the Ghostly Printing Press. Trio Acrobats will be wowing the crowds at the Piazza from 1pm, closely followed by Titan the Robot who will be performing live from 1:30pm. The high street will see the return of even more acts this year including stilt walkers, statutes, jugglers and our very own potion making cart! The Zombie Crawl itself starts at 3pm from Gover Lane, accompanied by a suitably Halloween-themed soundtrack and led by the infamous Anton Roberts! This year, the parade finishes at Berties Nightclub at Hotel Victoria for their Haunted Halloween Disco from 3:30pm. Trio Acrobats will perform a Grand Finale from 4:15pm! Expect heights and scary stunts and watch out for fire breathers! Make sure you check out the Greatest Showbooth’s Magic Mirror and take home a photo souvenir of your day!
The Griffin Inn are hosting their first Halloween Party from 3:30pm to coincide with the crawl which promises to include games, activities and prizes for best fancy dress.
Carla-Marie Jones, Newquay BID manager, says that “We are looking forward to the seventh Zombie Crawl – the event has been growing every year and in 2018 the Crawl is bigger and better than ever before with a slight change of afterparty venue this year to Berties Nightclub due to increasing numbers year after year. We encourage businesses across the town to get involved in any way they can to really maximise the footfall that this event generates for the town centre. We are so pleased to see the Griffin Inn hosting their first Halloween party and we wish them all the success with this. We hope that even more families and children will join us for the day and really make the most of this event as there’s so much going on in the town from morning till night and, as always, we can’t wait to see the ghoulish fancy dress!’’
All children aged under 16 taking part in the Zombie Crawl must be accompanied by at least one adult. For more information, contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01637 498599. You can also visit the Newquay BID website for details.
