Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) is launching a brand new town trail for this May half term, inviting residents and visitors to take part in a Treasure Hunt, solving clues to win buried treasure!
Pirate Pete has lost his parrots, they’ve jumped ship and are hiding out across Newquay. Participants solve the clues on a treasure map they collect from Visit Newquay Tourist Information. Once complete they will be rewarded with treats from buried treasure!
Participants are encouraged to dress up and make the most of a swashbuckling day out in Newquay!
This is the first time BID has organised a trail for the May holidays, and has come about due to the recent success and demand for the Easter trail from both residents and visitors to the town. The activity forms part of the BID strategy to drive and increase footfall throughout the town and encourage families to explore the town. The activity will be promoted locally to Newquay residents, as well as further afield across the County, inviting day visitors to choose Newquay as destination for a family day out. The activity will also feature on the Love Newquay social media pages, run by BID, which currently has around 30,000 fans across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
The Pirate Treasure Hunt will take place between Saturday 27th May – Sunday 4th June.
