FREE ‘VISIT NEWQUAY’ BUSINESS LISTING FOR ALL NEWQUAY BID MEMBERS

Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has collaborated with Visit Newquay to enable all BID levy-paying businesses access to a free, online listing via the visitnewquay.org platform. The official destination marketing platform for the town with a large international reach, Visit Newquay is currently the number one ranked website on Google across a number of key Newquay-related search terms.

Directly funded and organised by Newquay BID, this new collaborative initiative is a response by the BID to its recent business consultation process when the third term business plan was created. During this process, many business members advised that they would like to be able to access more future promotional and digital marketing opportunities, particularly going into a post Covid-19 recovery landscape. This project falls under Newquay BID’s Marketing theme within its five-year business plan.

Visit Newquay’s website, accessible worldwide, has almost 200,000 unique monthly browsers, mainly consisting of new visitors to the site looking for suggestions on places to stay, eat and spend time in Newquay. Current website visitor stats demonstrate a broad age range of people between the ages of 18-65+ with the majority falling into the 25–55 years old age bracket. It also has a relatively even split across genders.

This Newquay-BID funded opportunity will allow businesses across all sectors, sizes and locations to have a comprehensive digital listing so Newquay can strongly demonstrate its town-wide offering to both visitors and residents. This initiative ensures that 100% of the BID levy-paying members will directly be able to benefit and take advantage of this tangible opportunity, with cost savings per business of up to several hundred pounds. Each listing will include the business name, address and phone number, three images, up to a 2,000-word description, links to an email address and website, any grading and awards, access to special offers page, list of facilities and pricing.

Carla-Marie Jones, Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) Manager, said, “During our renewal period, we conducted a rigorous consultation process with member businesses. The resultant feedback helped us to formulate a set of fresh aims, objectives and projects for our third five-year term with many businesses expressing interest in promotional opportunities. We are keen to honour this and indeed help support businesses in this pivotal year so have chosen to partner with Visit Newquay to fund an exclusive listing for each Newquay BID levy-paying business should they wish to accept. It is such a great opportunity for Newquay businesses to put their amazing proposition and offerings in-front of a wide online demographic and an audience primarily made up of visitors to the town who are actively seeking ways to spend their time and money here. We hope this opportunity is greatly received and taken advantage of and will indeed give businesses some valuable promotion over the coming months. It’s wonderful to be working with Visit Newquay so that businesses can really benefit from our joined-up approach.”

Carla continued, ‘It’s super simple for you to take up this listing and we have created an online form for this purpose. A submission link has been issued to all members of our database who we hold up to date email addresses for. If you have not yet received this link, please do email the team at info@newquaybid.co.uk and we can issue you all the necessary information you require so you can take up this exclusive offering. Once the form has been completed by yourselves, the content will then be submitted directly to the Visit Newquay team who will then upload each listing to their website. We must, however, stress that the onus will be on each business to take advantage of this opportunity and provide their content through this online form directly to Visit Newquay.”

Susan Deakin from Visit Newquay said, “Here at Visit Newquay, we are delighted to work with Newquay BID on the shared goal of promoting and shining a positive spotlight on our amazing business community within our town. Newquay is one of the nation’s favourite seaside destinations and thousands flock here year on year to enjoy our seven sensational beaches, but the town also has a very vibrant and diverse business landscape that is absolutely worth exploring. From amazing seaside restaurants and cafes to unique experience providers and lovely independent shops, there is so much to Newquay. Let’s not forget the professional services – if you’re visiting the town and your car breaks down, you want to know who the best local mechanics are!”

Sue continued, “We hope Newquay businesses will see the value in listing themselves through Visit Newquay. Given the fact we are the most highly ranking site against a number of key Newquay search terms and our vast reach to the right audiences, the benefits are multiple. We look forward to working more closely with Newquay BID over the coming five years and getting to know some of the people behind the brilliant work.”

This initiative has been created primarily for a 12-month trial period followed by an annual review. If there is a positive response and uptake from BID-member businesses, a renewal and extension of the scheme will be considered.
