With Christmas now just a matter of weeks away, Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) is giving businesses and organisations in the town the opportunity to provide their exciting Christmas plans and content to feed into its upcoming Festive Events Guide. The lovely a5 guide will be distributed across businesses in the town prior to the festive season.

The Festive Events Guide is created to showcase everything that all of the town’s businesses are doing no matter how big or small. Whether that is a special range of gifts, products, packages or festive deals and offers, or even major events that businesses are contributing to, hosting or getting involved with. The Town Council and Newquay BID are also keen to know which businesses are planning to extend their opening hours over this festive period so they can help advertise this. The deadline for inclusion in the guide is Friday November 1st and the wordcount summary is just forty words of information to be sent via email to anna@newquaybid.co.uk

The Festive Events Guide is a beautifully designed a5 booklet of which 8,000 will be printed and distributed across hotels, shops, restaurants and cafes in the town ensuring to highlight Newquay’s fantastic festive programme that will light up the town for visitors and residents alike. It will also be promoted across social media via Newquay BID’s Love Newquay streams reaching audiences of over 40,000 alone.

Newquay BID is a major supporter of Newquay’s Festive Festival, this year branded as ‘Newquay at Christmas’. This is annually organised by Newquay Town Council and this year will encompass a whole programme of events to run between 29 November to 01 December encouraging all to celebrate the countdown to Christmas in coastal Newquay.

Andy Cole, Deputy Chairman of Newquay Business Improvement District BID said, “The major Festive Festival in Newquay is wonderful and gives the town a great boost but we know that the businesses are doing so much more alongside this. We want to hear all about these additional Christmas activities, promotions and events so that we can be shouting about them. This is a fantastic opportunity for BID businesses to come together and piggyback on our much-loved Festive Festival. Please send your content for inclusion in the guide to us by Friday November 1st in a brief forty-word summary.”

‘Newquay at Christmas’ is growing year on year and brings substantial footfall into the town. This year’s event will see the hugely popular Lantern Parade and the light switch on to the backdrop of the Newquay Christmas Market on Fore Street Car Park which includes a FREE Santa’s Grotto and live music. The competitive window competition is sure to make the high street look extra sparkly and special.

Between 29 November and 01 December many shops will be open until 8pm, offering mulled wine and mince pies to customers who wish to pick up some extra Christmas gifts and take advantage of the discounted parking available across the town thanks to Newquay BID. In addition, the Town Council has negotiated with Cornwall Council that on 30 September all Cornwall Council Car Parks in the Town will be FREE.

More exciting Newquay Festive Festival information to follow over the next few weeks. Newquay BID’s Festive Events Guide will be available to pick up from late November at the Tourist Information Centre or businesses throughout the town.
