Newquay Business Improvement District (Newquay BID) saw over 150 families take part in this years Easter Trail. Organised and created by Newquay BID, this free, family fun activity is designed to increase dwell time within the town centre and encourage locals and tourists to explore parts of the town that they may not normally frequent whilst increasing footfall in the participating businesses.
This year saw 15 businesses participating in the trail. Families were given a clue sheet which lead them to various businesses around the town where they collected a stamp, once their clue sheet was complete, they headed back to the Visit Newquay Tourist Information Centre to collect a small Easter treat.
Liz Wright of Treehouse NQY Team said: We were thrilled to be part of the Easter Trail, it brought so many new people into our new establishment. Lots of happy faces taking part over the Easter break with many saying they didn’t know we were there and some even coming back and taking part in our workshops! Thanks Newquay BID for including us!
Benn Perkins, General Manager of The Cribbar said; ‘It was great to see so many families and children taking part in this year’s trail and it was great to see many familiar faces.’
Kerry from Silver Breeze commented; ‘”The trail was a great opportunity to meet new and local families living in Newquay. The children we saw were a pleasure to speak to and loved solving the clues”
Carla – Marie Jones, Newquay BID Manager says: ‘We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the businesses who made this years trail a success. We certainly couldn’t run this trail without your support and involvement. We hope you all enjoyed the increase in footfall and had a lovely, busy Easter holiday period! With special thanks to the lovely team at Visit Newquay Tourist Information Centre for looking after all the participants and handing out the prizes. It is very much appreciated, as always.’
Newquay BID plan to run several other trails throughout the year to compliment holiday periods and key events following the success of this years trail. Please do follow the Newquay BID social media platforms and newsletters for more information.
