Newquay Business Improvement District (BID) has now opened their event funding application cycle for 2018/19.
The BID strategic events vision (up to 2021) is to create a more vibrant town by scaling up signature events and increasing support for sustainable community and lifestyle / sporting events. Lifestyle / sporting events are part of Newquay’s success and can be grown by encouraging a larger audience demographic and adding value via music, heritage, and culture. Community events are aimed at both residents and day visitors from across the region: these events increase footfall in the town, raise awareness of all that Newquay has to offer for residents and visitors and use Newquay’s substantial local strengths to encourage community spirit and participation.
Carla – Marie Jones, BID Manager says: ‘This priority area for the BID is to fund lifestyle and community events that have growth potential and are inclusive, promote and develop community spirit and create a feel-good factor in the town and to help become sustainable future events for the town. Commercial and not for profit events will be considered under this priority.’
If you are holding any events from April 2018 – March 2019, now is the time to apply. The BID events committee, made up of BID Directors will review all applications received and decide on which events to fund and how much will be allocated based on meeting the pre-defined strategic visions document.
The deadline for all event funding applications is Monday 8th January 2018.
