Newquay BID have been awarded a Silver Gilt award in the BID category of the South West in Bloom awards.
The award was presented after judging in July. BID Manager, Gemma Taylor, joined by members of Newquay In Bloom, gave a presentation to the South West in Bloom judge, highlighting projects BID undertakes across the town. The judging then continued with a walking tour of the town, highlighting projects, collaborations and improvements BID has made to the street environment. The judge noted key areas of achievement included little signs of litter, colourful wildflower beds (planted by Newquay in Bloom and funded by Newquay BID), a provision of a fantastic breadth of publicity for the town, and striking Love Newquay branding around the town.
Newquay BID is working closely with Newquay in Bloom to maintain and develop the towns floral displays, and support the community group with plans for further projects and developments.
The collaboration with Newquay in Bloom is part of Newquay BID’s ongoing work to improve the environment within the town centre, to create a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. Other recent investments for Newquay by the BID include the eye-catching ‘Love Newquay’ banners through the high street and ongoing work with Newquay Town Council to declutter certain areas in the town.
