Newquay BID are pleased to announce that the Love NQY app has been shortlisted in this year’s Cornwall Live Edge Awards under the Best Digital Innovation in Tourism category. These awards celebrate and showcase some of the brightest and best technology companies in the Duchy. The Love NQY app and website developed and built by local company Flomoco provides over 400 Newquay businesses with a digital listing, a comprehensive year-round event listing and use of new geofence technology to push notifications onto users. This location-based business directory is aimed at both visitors to the town and residents and showcases Newquay as a wonderful place to live, work and visit all year around. This project was part funded by Cornwall Development Company for European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). BID Chair, John Burbridge says ‘We are delighted to have been nominated and shortlisted in these awards, it’s great for a digital project created by a local company to be receiving recognition. There are so many talented entrants that we are up against this year so thank you to everyone who voted. As newly elected BID Chair, I would like to thank Karen Hoyle for all of her hard work and determination in bringing this project to fruition during her term as previous BID Chair. Newquay BID and its directors really appreciate your effort and ongoing commitment to this project.’
The Edge Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 15th November at Newquay’s Lighthouse Cinema from 6:30pm.
