Newquay Chamber of Commerce and Tourism will be offering all Newquay BID businesses free affiliated membership, giving them free access to the newly launched NCCT website.
Established almost 50 years ago in 1964 with almost 600 members Newquay’s Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is a member of the British Chambers of Commerce and continues to be the established and recognised voice for businesses across the town. The Newquay Chamber has no boundaries for membership and includes all areas both within, and in the surrounding districts. It is also a non-political organisation influenced and driven by its business members for the benefit of the business community.
The website provides information and links to a variety of outside bodies; lists meeting minutes for Regeneration Forum, Newquay Safe, Newquay Airport Forum, Newquay in Bloom, Newquay BID, Newquay Parish Plan; and includes a member’s directory. As affiliated members BID businesses will be given a single line entry and can view discussions and NCCT campaigns.
Chairman Rachel Craze is delighted that the NCCT is able to extend affiliated membership to BID businesses. “I see it has an opportunity to ensure that the voice of Newquay’s Commerce remains loud and clear, allowing the views of the business community to be voiced at all levels throughout the County. The stronger our voice, the greater power, impact and influence we will have to address topical issues and lobby for change.”
Affiliated members can upgrade to full membership at any time. Full membership costs just £20 per year and this provides businesses with an enhanced listing; a rotational feature on the homepage; share ideas, raise issues and voice concerns in our ‘Have Your Say’ section; stay and lobby for business; start and participate in discussions; vote on motions and campaigns.
