Newquay Business Improvement District are delighted to announce that the three Welcome to Newquay signs have been redecorated and reinstalled this month.
The three signs are positioned at entry / exit points into the town: Trevemper roundabout, Nansledan roundabout and adjacent to School Close. The signs were jointly funded by Newquay Town Council and Newquay Business Improvement District, with the new designs being agreed by the NTC councillors and the BID Directors.
Andy Hannan, BID Director and Deputy Mayor of Newquay Town Council, congratulated both organisations on providing the new Welcome to Newquay signs, saying that “they are the first thing our visitors see when they arrive by road and need to be both high impact and informative. The signs inform visitors of our Cornish heritage, our long-standing association with Dinard in Brittany and, most importantly, the recognition given to the town by both the RHS Southwest in Bloom and Britain in Bloom organisations”.
The new chair of Newquay in Bloom, Barbara Hannan, agrees saying that “it was good that the new signs were put up with the town’s latest success recorded in both Southwest in Bloom and Britain in Bloom competitions. Newquay currently holds the RHS title of ‘Best Large Coastal Town’ in the UK, something the town should be really proud of. It’s only fitting that we have bright, vibrant new signs to welcome all our visitors”
Both Newquay BID and the Town Council would like to thank Cornish Print for removing, repainting and reinstalling the sign panels and posts and designing the artwork. Any questions about the Welcome to Newquay signs can be sent to the BID team at info@newquaybid.co.uk or alternatively contact Newquay Town Council.
