Newquay’s exciting Christmas Trail is arriving, offering children the fantastic opportunity to solve clues and hunt out all things festive, in exchange for a festive treat.

The trail, created by Newquay Business Improvement District (BID), involves children (accompanied by an adult) following the trail to find the magical artwork which has been created by Trenance Learning Academy who have hidden them in businesses throughout the town. Clue sheets will be made available from the Tourist Information Centre from Saturday 9th December or able to download on the website. The trail will run until Saturday 23rd December and clue sheets can be collected and returned between 10am-4pm, daily.

The business will give each child a stamp for their clue sheet once they’ve been into the shop. Once the clue sheet has been completed it can be handed back to the Tourist Information Centre where the keen Christmas Trail seekers can claim a small Christmassy treat!

The trail has been developed by Newquay BID as a means of generating an enthusiastic Christmas spirit, complimenting the festive events line up and encouraging footfall throughout the town. Local businesses are also keen to take part in the festive frolics, as we will see the return of the Festive Shop Window Competition this year, whereby local retailers will be creating fabulous festive displays in their shop windows in the hope to win a half day photography shoot with the local Mike Searle Photography for their business.

Carla – Marie Jones, Newquay BID manager says; ‘after the success of previous trails around the town throughout the year, we are pleased to be bringing another festive, fun activity to the town to compliment the already bustling festive period this year. Businesses are excited to be a part of it and it really engages the public to encourage them to visit businesses along the trail and even explore parts of the town they may not normally frequent’

The trail does not have to be completed all in one day and budding adventurers have until Saturday 23rd December to take part.

For more information about Newquay’s Christmas programme, people can pick up a copy of the Festive Events Guide which lists details of local events up until 1st January 2017. Copies can be collected from the Tourist Information Centre or downloaded from www.newquaybid.co.uk
