We are holding our Annual General Meeting on Wednesday 29th June 2016, 6pm at Carn Marth Hotel.
The meeting is an opportunity to find out more about the work of Newquay BID and to meet the Directors. With presentations from the current chair, Jonathan Start and BID Manager Eve Wooldridge. Excess Energy will also present the marketing and PR plan for the next year.
The AGM is a great way to get up to date with the achievements of the BID and to learn more about how it operates, and find out about plans for the future. The meeting is open to BID members and Voluntary BID members only.
Newquay BID is a not for profit limited company, governed by an elected board of directors made up of members of the BID, all working together to meet the agreed key objectives in the BID business plan. Last year the BID was renewed for another five years, and is preparing for another successful year of marketing, events and business support for Newquay.
In the previous BID key milestones included; a highly successful advertising, marketing and PR campaign which has seen extensive advertising across the London Underground, regional and national magazines and local media, and over 60 pieces of positive coverage in key target newspapers; the production and distribution of key publicity materials including Seven magazine, the Food and Drink guide and the Summer event guide; the drawing down of over £35,000 of additional finance for Newquay; the development of footfall driving events such as the Music and Ale Festival, the Lantern Parade and the Zombie Crawl and the invaluable sponsorship support of numerous Newquay-based events such as the Fish Festival, the Carnival and the Night Surf, and the development of the innovative new signage project for the town.
The business plan for the next BID includes continued sponsorship for key events to drive footfall, final installation of signage across the town, welcoming lamppost banner project and hanging baskets, and continued work with businesses to support and help growth in the area. The AGM offers a chance for members to see the marketing strategy for Newquay, to hear research and plans for promoting the town to encourage more footfall and create positive, effective and beneficial awareness through campaigns and social media.
Chairman of the Newquay BID, Jonathan Start comments “As the new Chair to Newquay BID I am looking forward to seeing the business plan come to life, and see the work of BID drive more business and footfall to the town. As a business, the AGM offers the opportunity to find out about the projects BID is working on, and where and how money is being spent”
