The twelfth edition of Seven, Newquay’s free beach and lifestyle magazine produced by Newquay Business Improvement District, is out now. This year’s, new look 64-page A5 edition acts as a year-round guide to the town with informative and inspirational content valuable to both holidaymakers and residents, marketing Newquay as one of the top spots in the south west to live, work and visit whilst showcasing Newquay businesses.
With a new design team at Ice Cold Gorilla Creative Marketing working with Newquay BID, this year’s magazine is glossier than ever and has been given a new feel and overhaul of its existing style. The range of features in Seven 2019 focus on Newquay’s unique beach lifestyle and is designed to celebrate all the wonderful things about Newquay, showcasing the town as the perfect place to visit, work and live all year round. From features on seven favourite walks, to a bitesize beach guide, a spotlight on business owners and their love for Newquay, surfing features, history and heritage of Newquay and a celebration of Newquay’s eco-warriors, Seven 2019 aims to highlight the variety of activities and events that go on in the town which is shown in a six page spread which shows Newquay’s events through all seasons.
The detailed Food and Drink Guide is also included at the end of the magazine, expanded again this year, ensures that everything the town has to offer to locals and visitors can be found in one handy and free magazine. With such a large range of food and drink on offer with new businesses opening regularly, this year’s guide is bursting with recommendations on where to eat and drink. Be sure to check it out! Seven 2019 includes more BID member businesses than ever before.
Seven is named after the town’s TR7 postcode and the seven beautiful beaches that lie within the BID boundary. 15,000 copies of Seven will be distributed to Newquay businesses, including hospitality and tourism venues, retailers, food and drink establishments, leisure attractions and a wide variety of accommodation providers. In addition, the magazine is distributed to key destinations outside the town with the aim of increasing footfall in Newquay and attracting new visitors to the town: locations include Cornwall Services on the A30 and Tourist Information Centres throughout the county. Copies of Seven 2019 are also available to the general public in Newquay’s Tourist Information Centre and Newquay Library located on Marcus Hill.
BID Chair John Burbridge said: “With so much to do in the town and so many great activities and businesses to shout about, Seven magazine is a vital marketing tool for promoting Newquay. We always encourage BID members to get in touch with us to discuss ways in which they can maximise its marketing potential and help share the fact that Newquay is a marvellous place to live, work and visit. It’s truly great to see many businesses included in this year’s guide. With special thanks to ICG Creative for a wonderful design and to the team at Newquay BID for really bringing this year’s magazine to life with imaginative content”.
BID Director Jenny Briant says that “this year’s edition of Seven seems to be by far the best spread of businesses mentioned in the various versions I have seen and there is loads fitted in, with all the activities for families, pooches and adults, places to eat and drink”. BID Director Andy Cole agrees, saying that “the magazine is very useful if you are on holiday yet also if you are local”.
BID Manager Carla – Marie Jones said: “It has been really exciting working on the twelfth edition of Seven, highlighting everything that is wonderful about Newquay and promoting all that the town has to offer, from activities, events, to its retail offering and all the town’s amazing food and drink establishments. Newquay has so much to give visitors and residents and we really enjoy showing the town off and sharing our passion for Newquay. After last year’s success with Seven we aimed to include as many BID businesses as possible to really give the reader an authentic taste of Newquay life all year round and enable visitors to live like a local. Thank you to all the businesses that engaged and took part, we certainly couldn’t have done it without you all”.
There is also a competition at the back of the magazine with a chance of winning a pair of cinema tickets for The Lighthouse Cinema and a £25 food and drink voucher for Fistral Beach Bar each month if you share your best selfies with us. The competition starts in June and will run on the Love Newquay Instagram page (see @lovenewquay for details). Each month a winning photo (which adheres to the competition guidelines) will be picked by the BID Directors. For full details and competition rules, see www.newquaybid.co.uk
