The Boardmasters Foundation has donated £5,000 to BID to buy equipment to support arts and culture events in Newquay and a further £3,000 to fund the training needed to empower businesses to be Safe Spaces!
The Safe Space initiative was kickstarted by The Newquay Beach Hotel and the training was delivered by CLEAR. Carolyn Webster from CLEAR said, “The most welcome donation from the Boardmasters Foundation has been used to develop a whole-town approach to safe-spaces in Newquay, enabling organisations across the town to collaborate and to access CLEAR training and resources. It has had an immediate impact in the creation of a network of Safe Spaces and also a legacy in that it has inspired CLEAR to develop a blue-print to spread this approach across other towns in Cornwall. Thank-you Boardmasters!”
BID has used the £5,000 to purchase a stage and accompanying gazebos to enable us to stage arts events in our town!
