What’s Cooking?
This year’s festival will bring a tasteful collection of hot-food vendors and local producers. From artisanal Cornish cheeses and fresh seafood straight from the boat, to exotic street food and remarkably good smashed-burgers, this festival offers something for everyone. Alongside a fully stocked bar of local beer and cider provided by St Ives Brewery, you can expect a variety of local producers bringing everything from hand-made chocolates to fresh bread & pastries, along with live fire-cooking demos, tastings, and more!
The Fire Theatre hosted by Andrew Tuck
Ignite your inspiration with the all-new Fire Theatre, a centrepiece of the festival showcasing some of the hottest culinary talents in the South West. You may recognise Andrew Tuck from Great British Menu, or maybe locally for producing some of the finest fire-cooked food that we’ve ever seen. Andi is head chef at The Tartan Fox by Adam Handling, and he will be hosting the Fire Theatre over the weekend in July, bringing his talented friends and top local chefs to the stage, sharing their techniques and trade secrets on how to cook over flame! Expect live cooking demos, sizzling barbecue experiences, and interactive chef-led tastings, all throughout the weekend!
Live Music & Entertainment
It’s not just about food. Newquay Food Festival will also be brimming with live entertainment across the 4 days. From laid-back acoustic sets to high-energy Latino/Afro-Carribean bands, you can enjoy some of the best from the Cornish music scene FOR FREE. The stage will be live until 9pm, so you can dance, eat, and drink into the evening, making it the ultimate food-lover party by the sea.
Event organiser Barney Farnworth “I’m very proud to have grown up in Cornwall, so supporting local businesses and independent creatives has become a passion. Newquay’s history is
steeped in fishing culture, and its food scene is prevalent to this day. It’s about time this town had a summer celebration of food & music, that it can call its own.”
Event organiser Harry James Mills “We are overwhelmed by the support of the community already. It would seem that everyones very excited for Killacourt to be decorated with vibrant colours, tastes and enticing smells. Who wouldn’t be?!”
