Miss Newquay, Milla Magee, had the pleasure of attending Prince William’s visit to Fistral Beach on 9th May, as her first public engagement as Miss Newquay and now Ambassador for the town through Newquay BID also known as  ‘Love Newquay’ who she is working closely with to promote the town as a destination as well as its local businesses.

After meeting all the lifeguards, and talking to the children, Prince William made his way over to the lifeguard building, Milla  was standing with Prince William’s personal affiliate Sarah, who was charming, and chatting about her project ‘ GOFARWITHCPR’.

Milla says “Prince William greeted me with a handshake, and we discussed my project “GOFARWITHCPR” a project aimed at bringing CPR and first aid training as compulsory into the school system, the Prince acknowledged the importance of CPR, he agreed knowledge of CPR training could be the difference between life and death, and agreed that my project would be best served within educational settings as a life skill needed by the younger generation as standard within the National curriculum. ”
Milla plans to work with local mps and schools to continue this journey by bringing her campaign to the attention of ministers within Government.
“We discussed my journey with Miss England and that the finals are next week, at The Grand Station in Wolverhampton, sponsored by ‘Watermans’ Prince William said “we all rooting for you”.”

Milla who has worked for the RNLI and raised funds for them says “It was a wonderful day at Fistral beach with the local lifesaving services and children demonstrating the importance of first aid skills and safety, I was impressed at the CPR awareness sessions taking place as with my campaign, this is a subject very close to my heart.”
