Love Newquay & Newquay BID Secure Millions of Media Impressions, Putting the Town on Top Travel Lists
**Love Newquay/Newquay BID** is continually working hard to ensure that the resort is on the travel ‘wish lists’ of people of ages, right across the UK and beyond.
During 2023, Cornwall Airport Newquay made a significant expansion of its year-round and summer routes, and the **Love Newquay/Newquay BID*** team brokered a strategic relationship with Cornwall Airport Newquay and a number of the key airlines to jointly promote the town as a fantastic weekend, mini-break and holiday destination with both key regional and national print and digital media and with a number of appropriate key influencers.
The **Newquay BID/Love Newquay** PR team created two key media + influencers’ invitations. One was a ‘quick win’ Love Newquay in February Valentine’s based invitation and the other was a major ‘magazine format’ media invitation showcasing **over 100?** of the resort’s top hospitality, retail, wellness and activity businesses with a bespoke opportunity for the target media and influencers to come to Newquay for a personal experience trip.
These invitations were issued to journalists from print and digital media and to a set of deeply researched influencers who reside within the surrounding areas of a number of the agreed inbound flight locations, served by Cornwall Airport.
The publications, platforms and influencers which were targeted ranged from powerful national titles, regional print publications, digital platforms and social media influencers.
These included (amongst others):
- The Sun (national print and online)
- The i (national online)
- Manchester Evening News
- Northern Echo
- The Irish Daily Mail
- The Sunday Independent (Ireland’s biggest selling newspaper)
- The Sunderland Echo
The target of 15 in-bound, bespoke press trips was reached and more than 25 BID-member businesses were involved in hosting the journalists and influencers throughout the 2023 campaign. Feedback from both the media, and the participating businesses has being overwhelmingly positive and to date, the total campaign impressions/reach is 87,639,859 and is still growing with some coverage still expected to run imminently.
For future reference we are always looking for new businesses to be involved in upcoming press trips, particularly those who are great ambassadors for the town, doing innovative things and have a great story to tell. If you would be keen to be involved in future press trips or have any questions at all about the process or potential value of involvement, please do get in touch with us.
